Who am I?

It depends on who you ask. I've heard some philosophers claim that your profession doesn't necessarily define you (I'm a software developer and I especially like game development) so I guess that's not it, or at least it doesn't paint the whole picture.

I could also say that I was born and raised in LATAM (and I still live here), which explains the .lat in the domain, but considering that I don't dance or like most of the stereotypical stuff I wouldn't be sure it helps framing who I am, although our economic and political situation (and history) definitely does.

Oh, there's something that will probably give a lot of context: I'm a cisgender, white-passing, heterosexual male. I know, I know, that doesn't exactly make me look good.

Yeah, I was raised Catholic, firmly believed in capitalism... you know, the whole package that comes with a somewhat-privileged kinda white Latino guy.

Fortunately I always loved learning about everything: Science, philosophy, history, politics, blah, blah, blah,... And it turns out that along that road I stumbled several times with multiple things that allowed me to question my previously established way of thinking. I once was a centrist, I was one of those annoying new atheists too, I believed in magic too, and I even believed in meritocracy at some point.

Right now you could use some labels to describe me more accurately (with the corresponding nuances):

• Agnostic Atheist, I don't believe in any deity and although I can't obviously prove that no deity exists (proving the negative and all of that) for practical and philosophical purposes I do live under the assumption that there is no deity of any kind.
• Humanitarianist, all humans deserve equal rights and have the right to live with dignity.
• Animalist, non-human animals are completely worthy of the same moral and ethical considerations that humans have, I must confess though, I'm still not vegan nor vegetarian, I know, I should be.
• Environmentalist
• Naturalist, as in the philosophical view, to make it short: Everything has a natural cause and therefore the supernatural doesn't exist.
• Feminist, maybe? probably? as far as I know there's still a discussion about whether or not men can be feminists, in any case I share the same values as intersectional feminism.
• LGBTQIA+ ally, far from perfect in this regard of course, but I try to do my best and learn as much as I can.

What do I do to distract myself? I love fiction (books, series, movies, and playing video games), you would think that I would be a cinephile that loves contemporary art or that I love non-fiction, but no, for me entertainment is all about taking me away from reality, or, if it's close to reality, I go for comedy, don't feed me any of those sad stories, if I wanted to cry I could just watch the news thank you very much.
